So my friends Simon and Sarah started a blog since they moved to Shanghai to work. Simon is working for Ubisoft there and they probably exploit thousands of chineses doing the artwork at the same time.

Quick resume:
- I ordered 2 tails lights for my car (mine got broke by someone). 90$US + 40$ shipping, i checked with my nissan dealer it was 150$ for ONE light and 80$ for the instalation....
- I checked with them for my windshield that got a crack, 566$, so I called this place at Laval 230$, god they are expensive at Nissan
- I also ordered a 2GB MS duo for my PSP which is cracked with the 3.10OE firmware its very cool, load any ISO, everything is so easy now.
- Im level 66 (67 tonight) at WoW on my priest, i have been slacking everyone is 70 already, Vero is almost 50 ! Very nice
- I got a couples of gamecube games its always fun to play, i finished prince of percia sands of times, im on Warrior within, then i will try Two thrones after. I got also the simpsons, madden, nhl, and thats about it
- Vero got the approval from the Quebec gouv for the immigration, she still need the federal one thought, we hope to get it, maybe go mexico end of the year
- My new job is great ! Since im permanant here, I got a nice salary increase, I got pay overtime (I work a lots thought), and im pay too for support on the pager. Im getting very nice pay check, its help a lots, i needed it bad with all my debts.
- When im going to do my taxes, i will cry.
- Pride 33 at Phil place last weekend was cool. Judith baby is coming soon, she is getting quite a belly.
- I still love my new TV, god bless 1080p even if i have nothing to use it
- I need a PS3 someday for that
- Vero french is getting very good. (even if she said she is bad)

- Got a new laptop today Inpiron 6400 very full equip
- Need money

- Still waiting my cell phone I ordered 3 weeks ago (its getting very bad)
- Quebec poker tour next weekend, I work there with vero.
- New tactical-clan.com hosting, and we did a nice BBQ last saturday, we have a nice picture on the web site somewhere
- World of warcraft, playing a lots again. Vero started. Hopefully with 2 pcs we will be able to play together more
- Vero got her Visa extention until feb 2007
- I need to order a new bed next paid check the 15 sept. Its a Tempur-pedic kind of bed, on ebay. Very cool in Viscoelasticity, whatever the foam developped by the nasa.
- I did a budget to realise we very short in cash
- I need to survive until april 2008, by then 1 loan and the car will be finish to pay (like 800$ a month in my pocket to paid the rest of the debt).
- Else life is going ok !
- I wanted to do a big post full of pictures, hopefully next month
- My FTA receiver isnt working anymore been 2 months, but last news said thats would be working soon

Some kind of summer updates

- Got a new job, going to sign contract today
- When to play poker in 2 poker club in mtl, was cool - 60$x2
- Kevin and Anika left back yesterday for california, basically we did a tons, La ronde, going out (2 Pierrots, boite a marrius, irish pub, st-sulpice, sofa, etc). Not to mention all the others stuff. We went to the mont-royal tam-tam also, saw Annie-Claude there.
- Went to the waterpark (Pointe-Calumet) the week before was very cool
- Strangly I never been so busy and nothing to write, probably because I dont write daily or often
- Playing world of warcraft a lots, almost level 50 (on 60 level, then after, raid time)
- I enjoy my gamecube, nice thingie
- I'm going to need a cell phone, since i will work as a consultant
- Need more poker games at home but everyone is busy during the summer
- Party a David new house 12 august
- Need to start playing poker on the net again

I know, blog is like really not in my mind anymore, its something i used to do every morning at work. Im late reading everyone else blogs. Sucky, but well it's how it work. Vero had 2 friends from california this weekend and next weekend here so we busy as usual. It's like the summer in Montréal, always full of activities.

Still no job which is bad, no picture of wedding posted yet.

Working here on the ramp and stuff, very busy !! Hopefully i do a big updates "soon" (tm).

Poker post:

2 days ago, I was watching 2 quebecers play on the partypoker million dollar tournament (tourney are all sundays and the winner get 155k). Porcelet from Sherbrooke won it ! (congrats again) and another guy Ph1lledingue, finished 4th with 55k (he also won his WSOP seat on pokerstars as the same time!!)

Anyway, I check in my account PP gave me 20$ BONUS to play again. I say what the hell ;) I went and put 10$ in a heads-up match. I win - 20$, I then play a 6$ sit n go, I win I get like 48$ in my PP account or something. Last night I decided to spent the rest of it... I went to cash table .25/.50c, get up to 80$ in like 30 minutes. I do a 11$ heads-up, i win 20$, I do a 22$ sit n go - 6 players, I win 75$, I do 2 sit n go at 11$ 10 players, I won both 50$ each, during that time, I was play on a cash table. I put 50$ - when I finished my night I was up to 150$ on that table :)

All around, I did 320$, did get 280$US, Im just going to spend the rest around and try to bet big ;)

It's funny to play when it's not your money, I play a lots more aggresive, it paid well yesterday.

Without work, I have been a tons busy around. I guess I don't have time for the routine stuff I was doing at work ;)

Been very busy, a lots of interviews (3 this week), I finished to work last 2 week (2 june). Since then, I have bought my Gamecube (should have it tomorow or soooon !!).

We finally found and bought Veronica dress for the wedding ! We paid more than expected, but it was hard to find. We still need to find some sort of rings now. We actually found a nice one (yet more than we wanted to paid :/) on the southshore, but I think she said it take 3 weeks to make. Geesh we don't have that much time ;)
I might have a picture of the dress later, when I get the permission !

There is a video of my camera I took like 1 month+ ago of the tamtam on the mont-royal. Note that the video was cut and compressed a lots (the original version is like 400 megs and 5 minutes, compressed was down to around 25 megs. It always depend of the quality you want anyway, there we go:

Doing a poker night friday, it's been a long time ! Didn't got much reply yet but still 5 days to go anyway. Saturday it's the Quebec Poker Tour #4, I decided to work there again, it's in Gatineau. That's cool because they were missing peoples to be on the floor, Vero is going to work with me. It's not much money but still, better than nothing.

Simon, the house owner here is back for 2 months. (He was gone 4 months). He is probably leaving in august then september for china (another 4 months) then I think he go back where he was another 4 months. All good for me, he is doing a lots of cleaning and changes around. Like he will install doors this week.

Not sure what else, my memory forgot ;) Some more shopping, some theater, some show, some beers and not going to work the morning is wonderfull, not having a pay check every week is terrible ! Hopefully, I get a job in the next 2-3 weeks max. I have very good chance this week, we shall see.

Yeah thats more like it. Anyway what's up in my world ? Hmmmm
- Simon is coming back friday (I wanted to do a poker game that day but I cancelled the project), thats also mean we not going to be alone anymore at home. I have no idea how long he will stay in montréal thought. We shall see !

- Date of the wedding: Thursday 29 june, 1h30pm. We are waiting the documentations on that part to know "how it worK".

- Been working at the QPT #3 this weekend, well saturday. Interesting experience, funny to be on the "other side" and see peoples lose / win getting bad beats. I was giving the name tag at the entrance then after I was a "runner". I go at a table when there is an all-in called. Then I take the tag and the position of the table when someone die. It's pretty easy, but it's a LONG day. Been there at 9h30am, left around 1h15-1h30am. I was also answering rules question when asked. But some situations are pretty tough. (guys turned a card too fast, then burned an extra one).
I will probably do it again in 3 week (17 june) at Gatineau if the organisation still need my help.

- Still looking on ebay for a gamecube, been shopping for a long time. I might buy a very big system fiday it will depend of the price (one has 26 games, boongo, dance floor mat, 7 controllers, etc.).

- 3 days of work remaining here, Im still looking for a job unfortunatly. I still apply a lots, no interview thought this week since last week was pretty dead. Did 2 applications yesterday, looked good. Im getting a lots of feedback at least so far. Hopefully I get something quick.

- We went to see Da vinci code last friday at the Paramount downtown, there was SO many peoples, first time I see that much there. 5 theaters for Da vinci, 5 for x-men 3. We got there I think at 9h45pm for the 10h00 or something representation of da vinci. The women in front say "x-men 3 full until 12h45am". You get the idea, on the 3rd floor there was like 7 huge line-up. None for Da vinci which was good. The movie itself not bad but a bit boring. Looked like some lack of actions or hmmm a bit too long I dont know which part. Didn't really got out excited about it.

- Me and Vero played Tennis for the first time, well that was her first time too playing tennis. I think she find it more difficult than planned ;) We still have a lots of work to do. Im not a good teacher, that doesn't help. We have to go play Golf next and maybe Badminton, Roller Blade would be cool too. We did renew her subscription to aerobie, pilates too.

- I was thinking about summer plan (hopefully I will have a job by then to pay everything), La ronde once at least, firework start 17 june, golf, lots of beach, jazz festival, sports ?, more pokers (hehe), some show, St-jean soon, Canada day after. Hopefully will be an enjoyable time !

- Theater next friday (we going to see a comical piece)

- I forgot to post a video of my camera (Sony T9) still, but it's really good quality

- I need someone to paypal me 10,000$ at carl.olsen@gmail.com so I wouldn't have to work all summer and I could pay everything I need to pay. Wouldn't life be so easy that way ?

Ok this say, I really have to rechange my picture on the right, it's way too dark and boring. I want to put a new one I got, but I have been lazy. It's the same for the BBQ pictures I got this saturday, been lazy putting them on the web for friends.
I should post 2-3 here, It was a fun BBQ, with small rain but still !

Sunday, I went to brother place. he rant a "container" to throw away a lots of stuff. He did a lots on friday and saturday, so sunday was relax, we finished to destroy the garage inside (the floor mostly) and we were putting the stuff in the big container. We stopped like an hour when the sun got "out" to do a ride of his new Harley Davidson. Pretty cool !

Monday was more relax, we went to the grocery, biggest grocery I have ever did (not impressive but still 220$). Not to mention there was only 2 items over 10$ (garbage bags and toilet paper) I have to post a picture of the receipt!

I had an interview yesterday at TD Meloche Monnex, pretty impressive for the IT, they have 350 peoples only for that (like 4000 users). It's big, I have no idea if I did good or not. I usually have a good feeling, now im clueless.

Else I have been looking for a gamecube on ebay for the last 2 weeks. I'm not in a rush. First I wanted to buy a gamecube with 3-4 games and everything for like 60$US. Pretty cheap, then I realised some rare auction have gamecube with 20games+ sell like 100-120$ US. let say 15 games at 5$ is 75$, pretty cheap if you ask me for original games. Only game I will have to find/buy is Mario Kart:Double Dash, some Mario Party and RE4. but later.

I only have 7 days of work left or so. Today, tomorow, friday I finish at 11h00, then next week. Right now I have to focus on listing what I have left on my task list. Cleaning my laptop, backuping my stuff, syncronizing my address book, etc.

Then we went back 2 weeks after I think, it was a sunday of tamtam, there was so many peoples there, it was crazy. There was a lots of peoples at the tamtam and a medival game thing, lots of peoples on the road going up too. It was a nice sunday for sure.

Renovation ! We changed the door outside (I was drinking beers). Still missing the paint and the sandblast(?) But it look quite better now.

On a side note, interview today was "nothing", finally they were not offering a good salary (he didn't even wanted to tell me the $, I think it was very low). I hate when we cannot know a range before the interview.

What else, hmm

Been at brother place this weekend, we built 2 doors and installed one for going outside. I didn't worked much thought on the outside installation.

We will probably go sign papers at the justice building friday for the civil mariage (take like 40-45 days after she told me on the phone).

I was checking on ebay to get a gamecube, I saw some very cheap combo like 1GC, 2 controllers, 1 memory card, 6 games around 50$CAD, not too bad imo.

Poker tournament saturday will be very cool I hope.

Interview tomorow for a technical job, really not my kind but it was based a lots of administrative stuff. I just fear what salary he might offer vs a real admin job. I have to go there and check since I couldn't get any info off the phone.

I plan to go at brother place thursday night or friday night / sunday to keep working on his stairs and various stuff. He has free beers from his company. He is actually testing budweiser products. They got like 2000 beers to test, test done we drink ! It's funny because the beers don't have sticker or anything.

Vero has been working in the back of the house, I think grass would be nice and putting some flowers. To continue...

Blog Interest

Things changed a lots, first I was writing stuff I was checking on the web, my passions, etc. Now I changed for stuff I do that will probably interest the peoples that visit me (the 5-6 of you !). Of course it's often similar, but sometime it's more like "oh geek stuff nobody will care, let's skip". Maybe that's why I don't blog that much anymore, less stuff to say. It's probably because I'm lazy thought. I have a lots of pictures from my Camera at home I wanted to post and a video that I converted and everything. Still I lack of time and motivation on these things.

Hmm whats new ?
- 13 may (next saturday) I have a small poker tounament, I hope I will perform very good.
- Tonight I will go play a 10$ game.
- This weekend there is a satelitte (25$+5$) to win a place for QPT #3, I might try it
- I don't have much planned this weekend
- Vero went for her passport renewal yesterday, she is going to get her new one tomorow
- Immigration is so complex, we will probably get married soon at the townhall (234$), then will be easier to make an application here.
- Job search is getting quiet, there is not much on jobboom for a network admin recently. I finish here the 2 june
- The Nintendo 64 emulator is going very good on the PSP, I hope in the next month we will have a good numbers of games playable. It's nice to be able N64 games on a PSP. so Cool
- The spice must flow !

I will post some pictures and videos of my T9 camera, I were totally lazy. We went to the Mont-Royal yesterday, there was SO many peoples. I took videos and pictures of the crowd. There was a lots of tamtam, medieval fights, etc.

Except that not much to report. Poker was bad friday, I didn't lasted long because I took 2 big risk (could have doubled up my stack thought).

Hard weekend !

Hard on the spirit, because I didn't perform quite well at the QPT. It was average overall. I was playing very tight, but the table was not moving at all. I went up to like 13k in tokens, then after 5 hours, blinds were getting up and up, at 500/1000. I didn't got much stuff (even if I was calling decent hands). I got down to 7,000k, I had to push all-in with A-8, but bad luck the other guys had A-8 and the third one KK. I finished there. Only good thing is that it was 5 minutes before the lunch break (1h30 or so break). I didn't wanted to wait 1h00 or something to get eliminated right after. It's a reason why I pushed so just before. Too bad. It was not bad overall but the table didn't helped since nobody was dying the stacks were not getting big like other tables. I finished around 130 on 339 players. The money part was top 40 positions and for points it's higher than 100. So it sucked for that, I didn't got any points to access the final.

Sunday I played some poker online to get better. It was a disaster of very bad luck I lost money there too. It was a hard weekend for sure.

I didn't posted camaera pictures yet, I will later this week when I think about it.

The satisfaction of new toys !

I feel like a kid that get his Nintendo 64 for christmas. (I was almost like that kid, I swear).

My camera is really really small. Very cool so far (Maybe except the red eye), everything work pretty good. Lots of options, im still learning. Anyway I didn't got much time to test it yesterday. Friend Mathieu came over to take beers and watch the hockey (not like I watch much hockey anyway, so I took beers). With all that, I didn't had the time to install my logitech speakers. They look very good !! The subwoofer is bigger than my old one. I was impress, I had a good place to put it under the TV, but the magnetic is too strong. Tonight I will install them for sure.
In a very good timing I got my memory stick, so I have my 1 gig for the camera now. Only deception is that the mp3 players I ordered the 10 april was shipped only today :/ I won't have it before 7-14 days.

Quebec Poker Tour 3 days left ! Staying on the poker mind, I was looking to change my RayBan sunglass because they are getting use and old. I was thinking that if I change my sunglass, I rather buy special lens for the poker at the same time. I have been looking for different possibilities. I found some nice one on pokerspecs.com where you have a clear lens that you cannot see in front but that is perfectly clear when you wear them, very interesting. Except these ones, pokerlenz.com which has a pair and oakley, there is really nothing else I have found. I thought they would be more popular.

Anyway this say, I dont have money to spend on sunglass. So If I win this weekend good money I will buy some of these, else I probably have to wait 6 months+.

These Oakley include a mp3 players, which is perfect for poker ! That's would be a 2 in 1 !

It's just when you try to save some money, something come up. After all my shopping I was expecting the weekend to be quiet, but with the L'Oréal Sale for private supplier (then the Cage of Sport to eat), then a parking ticket, gasing the car at 1,20$, etc. It's always sucking up somewhere. I think that's why I wanted to stay home for the rest of the weekend. We had 2 free tickets at the Paramount. We went to saw Inside Man, not a bad movie, but only the front speakers were working and not the surround. I went to say the guy at the beginning, nothing changed. I complained at the end of the movie (I was the only one to complain go figure) and I got 2 free tickets for any paramount. at 11$ by ticket x2, it's 44$ I save in theater tickets, not bad at all.

Im waiting for my mp3 players this week (maybe next week), my camera tomorow, my speaker probably wednesday, my memory card tomorow or tuesdays. So everything is pretty cool.

Next saturday is my big poker tournament, I really hope I will do good (especially I pay it this time).

Nothing new for job still looking, there was nothing this weekend.

That's the negative part of ordering on the internet, everything is cheaper, you can get better stuff than in store, more recent. But hey the problem is that you have to wait for the shipping. In store you get that directly.

My Sandisk memory stick should be there this week.
My Logitech z5500, I ordered from a guy on ebay close to montréal, but he refuse me to pickup the pckage and save 40$, I also offered to pay directly (instead of paypal) to save him %fee and nothing the guy refuse. He has a store in Repentigny, bad buisness. He told me "yeah but that set is 499$ in store". I saw it at 289$ on tigerdirect.ca...
My mp3 player, I didn't got any tracking number. No news yet, but I doubt anyway that's could be here this week, probably next week.

Going at the private l'Oréal sale later with Vero since I finish at 11h00 today, it's for supllier of l'Oréal. We will probably go to the theater too (we still have these 2 free ticket at the Paramount theater).

I got a call for a job in St-Jerome (north of Laval). I was excited that I got a call of a job, but it's too far, which really suck (it's the 3rd job offer I got that is very/too far). I hope I get one for Montréal or south shore soon enough.

There some random pictures of what Im getting from my nano mp3 players to my memory stick, to the camera I want, to the PSP game I got ! The only stupid thing on ebay is that the black model is always like 50$ extra for the SAME thing, so I might give up and go for a silver one tomorow. The black one look so much better imo.
For example: 1 black was at 285$US 11 hours left, the silver one 195$US 11 hours left. So tomorow at lunch, I will decide. I have seen a T7 getting sell at 255$US, really interesting but I will go for a T9, the stabilizator thing look really good in every review.

I got a call for a job yesterday at home. I called back this morning, I was quite surprise the women asked me 3-4 questions then asked me right away what salary I was expecting. I found that question so good, because they were offering 15k$ less than I expect. I saved myself time and themself too. Not having to schedule an interview, to talk an hour to realise they want a junior or something.

I didn't got any other news yet from voxco, I hope I get some feedback this week. Not much else !

Still hunting for a camera on ebay, mostly a Sony T7 or T9, I hope to get a black model from asia, they look better than the standard gray.

I almost finished my budget, Im in trouble, I really spent more money than I win by month, not sure what I can do. I have to change some stuff, but still. Maybe the new job will increase my income, also leaving my job here will give me more money which will balance for the next months. Ahh, I have to finish my calcul thought, to make sure everything balance at least for the next 6 months ;)

I was too busy shopping on ebay and others stuff this weekend. I totally forgot to look for some tickets saturday at 12h00. I wanted cheap tickets, too bad. If someone know where I can get 2 tickets, email me !

Talking about ebay, I got myself a memory stick sandisk 1gigs friday night for 44$ CAD shipping included. I checked at the Future Shop saturday, they sell that for 99,99$, do you imagine how much cash they do there. Same thing for the rest, I started to watch for a digital camera. I saw at FS a Casio EX-S500, 499$... Ebay 225$..
Im looking for a Nikon S3 right now it's around 200$US, the Sony T7 is interesting too, I want a thin one. I checked a bit around, I wanted the Casio first, but the reviews are poor. The Nikon is cool, the sony T7 is a bit more better in the reviews thought but still not much. The problem is I have a 256megs SD for the Nikon and a 1gigs card for the Sony, thats would be better for me to get a sony camera for the spaces. Well I have 256 + 128 megs on the SD it's not "that" bad.

Not sure really, but one auction finish tonight and is really appealing.

I also got a "ipod nano copy" 2GB mp3 players, a tons of features (even a FM tuner built-in for the car). Got that for 64$US, it's a good deal imo. I cannot wait to get it (probably next week).

Im buying right now on some Logitech Z5500 speakers since mine at home (the control paneL) is not working good. 499$ in store, I will get some refurbish one at 183$ CAD right now. Pretty good deal I think, and it's from a seller in repentiny, I think I might save the shipping, not sure.

That's it for the shopping after that really I don't see what else I will need, it's these 2-3 things I was always lacking (especially the camera), I should be ok for a LONG time after (I hope), else the poker saturday was cool, but we were only 6 persons, I will move it back to friday it's more popular there.

- I'm looking on ebay to buy a ipod nano clone around 100$ (look cool)
- Poker tomorow night at my place (2 spots left) ! This remember me, big poker tournament the 22 april weekend
- I found a good deal at 2200$ for my car insurance (rather than 3000$)
- I got a really good job interview yesterday, I hope I get that job ! (I also got a call from Nurun for more stuff (except that I didn't wanted to go work at Laval)
- I got my taxes refund this week, I did pay a lots of stuff, I want to do a budget this weekend or soooon
- We have to go to the shopping center tomorow to take a picture for Vero passport

It was a big busy week overall but productive.

Damn Cold !

I have been sick a lots this weekend, was not able to work monday. Nothing more annoying than a cold where you feel bad, you have a headhache, you have to clean your nose every 2 minutes.

I still don't feel good this morning at work. I should have stayed bed.

I should get WE9 in the mail today or tomorow, I also got my federal taxes payment, nice stuff, but I have too much debt still. I was hoping to get some money playing poker but I didn't do anything recently, except keeping it almost even. The 22 april tournament is going to be very nice (QPT #2) and the one in may, it's finally getting closer. I have an interview thursday, we shall see. Nothing else for the job so far.

I watched Ice Age 2 yesterday (quite good, well similar to the first one I guess) and Failure to launch (quite a bad girl movie to avoid watching).

My ebay mistake and my damn car !

I did something stupid this week on ebay. I was looking to buy a PSP game, used one was at 22$ (instead of 39$ news), with 4$ shipping it was a good deal. But some stuff came in my office, when I got back on the bid, it was 40 sec left, I was in a hurry and rather than bidding now, i did a buy now. 36$ (for a used game) instead of like 25$. I was pretty pissed off. But the seller was cool and we concluded a 30$ deal.

And bad news for my car insurrance, since I got an accident in fev 2004, My insurrance will go from 2,000$ to 2800-3000$. She is looking for the best, but it's going to be painful to pay that next year :/

On good news, poker tonight at home ! ;)

End of job - June 2 !

That's it, following the evaluation, all the job stuff, etc. I got a letter that I'm leaving for the 2 june. I get a montant of compensation and a montant for the vacation, which is not bad at all. This leave me 10 weeks to keep looking for a new job and If I don't find anything, I'm still available for unemployment check, so it's pretty ok. I guess, the followings months might be more stressful, but right now i'm feeling like no stress, well 10 weeks is not bad since I was already looking for a new job and I'm already doing interviews.

Weekend of activities !

My friday afternoon started with a job interview at Nurun. The interview overall was good, the problem is the guys wanted to see me because I had a good resume, since I did a lots stuff overall. He wanted to meet me, he said the company was doing a restructure and there was a lots of changes. Good, but no job there.

After that, I did pick up Vero downtown, we went to a restorant called Krussman (or something on BeaverHall), they have a speciality of Pig Knuckle. This is not a usual traditional meat for here, but it was different. Then we went at the FIFA to see
Don Quichotte (58 min.). It was a story about the author and the book, it was decent but I was SO tired I did slept like 5-10 minutes, so I missed like from 35-45 minutes.

The next morning (Saturday), We went to the Biodome, It was exactly the same as I saw last autumn, so not much new from me, but Vero was quite happy to see the pinguin ;) (I personally prefer the bats cave part). The bad part, the beavers were sleeping (I saw him at work last time), the cougars was sleeping and the outer was sleeping. I guess I was lucky the first time. Good experience overall, next visit should be the Botanic Garden.

We wanted to go at the Starcity to see a movie after, but only french movies there (we would have saved 10$ on the parking). Finally we moved downtown at the Paramount (my favorite theater). We went to see V for Vendetta and it was really good. A good entertainment. During the movie, the projector did stop, like 2 minutes (my guess, lamp burn / end of life). I went to the bathroom so it was a good timing, a guys came to say we would get compensated. We did get 2 free tickets for another movie... Quite good for a 2 minutes break ! Really nice. We did the grocery after, we wanted to watch a movie that night but my speakers don't work well anymore. So I did spent like 2 hours trying to fix them, the problem is the center control (logitech z560). From what I saw on the internet a LOTS of peoples has this problem, that's suck not sure what I will do with that.

Sunday we went at the "Cabane à sucre", like planned, it was not bad, food was decent, even thought I liked the last year place better. I hate like a pig as usual, we were feeling sick most of the day. So the rest of sunday was pretty must watching TV and movies.

The week should be pretty relax too, I have to call my car dealer for a maintenance. I am due and I had some problems minor recently. Except that friday or saturday poker time, I should sent an email today or tomorow to fix the date that exactly. I think we will split the cash 45/25/10 rather than 55/25 like last time. We will see, depend of the peoples ;)

Not much to post, but Vero want me to ! Some random stuff

We did our first pie this week, it was VERY good. cheese pie thing with peaches on it. I moved the computer in a new spot close to the TV, much better and thats will be better for movies too.

I bought some spice rack today.

Tonight, brother is going to see some Flamenco show, not sure we will go. Poker got canceled too.

We probably go see a movie tomorow at the FIFA if there is place left.

Friday - I have an interview for a job in the afternoon

Saturday, we will probably stop at the biodome like I said before

Sunday - "Cabane à sucre" ! Should be good to eat like pigs

Monday - Vero is going to register at the "center" next home for some activities

Friday Night Poker

We did another Friday Night poker. It was great as usual (*cough*) hehe. It's always interresting, Bernard won the first game with Jeff second, the second was won by Benoit and I finished second. Maybe we should do 3 winners next time. We splitted 80$ into 55/25, maybe we should do 45/25/10 next time. 10$ less for the winner but the 3rd one get his buy-in back. We had the pleasure to eat tornwordo salsa, which was very good. He didn't got too much luck thought even if he looked like a solid player. I didn't liked much Paco and Mathieu comments all night long thought. Except the one were Paco was saying that poker is like 80% luck. He sure was lucky, but he sure won't win that way. It was great overall. A bit bad for my new guest (torn) which had to leave early. I was a bit tired too, the mood was not perfect ;)

I did my taxes last night, very long and boring. I have to mail that during lunch. I also have to post a check for the QPT #2, 150$ ouch but such a tournament.

I still have not bought Winning Eleven 9 for the PSP, I lack time and money, I still check ebay often thought to get a nice deal.

Next weekend, friend emailed for a "Cabane à sucre" breakfast. I'm looking forward to it to show that to Veronica. I think we should go to the biodome the saturday too. We trying to find more activities to do together, but we have a lots of different hobbies.

I have another interview this friday, but I was hoping to get positive news from the first one. I have to go to the dealer with my car too. It got some problems to fix.

2 job interviews

Yesterday I did 2 interviews. First one, is a nice small place (Clair de lune). They doing stuff like candles, pedetals, etc. They have 68 stores in Canada. (Mostly Quebec and Ontario). They dont have any IT guys there, they using consultants. Everything was pretty smooth, my profile fit perfectly with what they look. Im looking forwarf a second interview / a position answer. Who know.

Second one was at Serti Informatique, they have internal staff (like 100) and they also place peoples. I did tell my resume to the guys then he took a picture. Some blah blah, was not terrible. I also did a bad bad test. The questions were all fucking old useless stuff, that I didnt remember. Like "modem are asking to receive a file, what signal does it send, TRS, RTS, XTR, TRX) You know the kind of thing nobody care like or How many pins has a scsi-2 cable, they couldnt use a ultra wide 2 scsi cable or something new, no they have to ask old stuff like. How many bits this ISA slot has, or what is the fastest bus, the cpu bus, scsi bus... Kind of questions you guest not bad, sometime you have no ideas. I don't remember everything, but it was useless and hard for nothing.

That's it, waiting for news now !

And I might have a contact with Nurun, waiting next monday, the guy say he will contact me.

I still havent talk about the job evaluation thing. I have posted almost nothing about Mexico, I was hoping to do a nice travel post in like 10 part with each cities and stuff we saw.

Quickie time:
- Im looking for a network admin job right now.
- Going at Saguenay for the weekend
- Next friday or saturday we playing poker at my place
- I have too much debt, I need to do money
- I did put 100$ on Pokerstars, starting to play there
- I need to do my taxes this weekend (REER (RSVP?) will give me a good ammount to pay some debt, but I have to start paying my REER so).
- I don't like working with the new guy here, I think it's the lack of knowledge (or the questions he ask).
- I will buy Winning Eleven 9 for my PSP, checking on ebay right now.
- I love my copag cards I got, they work so great.
- I need to get myself a card protector, I found a online store with a tons of them, I will check later (link to follow later).
- Next QPT tournament is in April, but there is a Quebec Poker Open and a WSOP satellite in march, I was wondering if I should do them (100$ and 150$ is a lots for me).
- I need to get an haircut tomorow before leaving for the saguenay (vero too).
- Im trying to find a good "vol au vent" recipe, but will ask mother this weekend
- I need to clean the poker room downstair, all the stuff still there, it bug me a little bit, but well the dinner room work fine for now.

Weekend poker tournament !

This weekend was my first big tournament for the Quebec Poker Tour. 300+ persons, 150$ buy-in. Very very well organized, 40 tables. Really impressive. Tournament started around 1h00pm. Some peoples was really "profesionnal" at my table. 4 were playing poker to win they life with that I think, anyway. This changed nothing. On my first big tournament I had to get the worst badluck of poker in the last year. In 15-20 hands I went in the flop to see, only like 3 were "ok". The rest nothing, nothing, nothing, brick,brick. After 2 hours of calling and getting no flop. My stack of tokens were getting low. I called a all-in at end with my remaining chips, not much. I went back home after 2 hours. The first place was 9621$, second was like 4800, etc. I really wanted to get to day 2 and in the money places. Too bad I guess I will retry again at the QPT #2, in Montréal in April, there is also a big on in Québec in march and a WSOP qualification in march at the same place (Mercier).

That's it for my very expected weekend, not much happenned. I still have to post about my Job situation

I noticed, I got lazy again with my blog, update every week or so, less pictures, less stuff. Good thing I have tornwordo blog to read every morning, else I would be bored fast ;) I don't know how he can write everyday like that without missing any (or almost).

Been a terrible weekend, I was working installing our new Cisco Catalyst 4500 switch here. This went very well overall, started at like 8h30am, finished at 3h30pm. But it was worst since I had to go take care of my brother dogs (2) and cats (3) for the weekend. Friday, I go there with Vero, take the dogs out but the little one (Lola), refuse to go out because it's too cold, I go back to the kitchen, first thing I see it that she did her poo (and pee) on the ground. Watch TV, get allegies problem. We went to go sleep in brother room, the little devil did pee on the bed too. I try to find new stuff, find a sleeping bag, we use that to sleep. Both dogs did a lots of noise for the next 2 hours. I can say I was pretty much not in shape for the work in the morning. I came back there after work at like 4h00pm. Got the dogs out again, the little devil repeat her exploit and poo/pee on the ground while Im not watching. We were getting sick again, we decided to go sleep home, and come back the tomorow morning at 7h00am to get them out, then we came back home to relax the end of the sunday (it's been a short weekend). Leason learned: No more help for brother animals, too much hairs everywhere, too much allergic, too much smell. Next time he can pay to put them somewhere.

Been pondering for a new job recently. Post to follow later about my job evaluation and my thought.

Valentine day stuff

Yesterday was a nice long day, I went to some shopping during all my lunch, only found out a snoopy with a card, I wanted to find some nice slipper for Vero. I went to the mail after work too. I found out some model, but not the one I wanted exactly. Another toy, I already had chocolate from the day before. We ate some mexican food (kind of green peppper stuff with steak, raisin, onion, etc and the outside gravy was a cream with cheese and nuts. The rice was standard with "corn". Anyway nothing we usually eat here. It was good, fun to eat mexican stuff !

All that to say valentine day is only there to spend money ! Oh and I got some slipper too :)

I also tasted a bottle of wine (pretty average) and a Porto vintage that I got last week. Quinto of ... forgot, that was a special at the SAQ 52$ instead of 64$. It was a big deception, not sure because Im not used to Vintage, I usually take LBV. But this one had a really strong taste. Maybe it's the vintage effect, I don't know (I still have half of the bottles for the taster around here).

That's about it ! Well I think.

I finally got my last DVD in the mail yesterday. I got some problem because I moved during the order. But everything is at home, so Im quite happy about it. Lots of stuff to watch and rewatch.

The TOY, a lots of friends want to see: my FTA Receiver ! I got it yesterday too, woo hoo ! I think I know like 7 peoples that will buy the same thing, that just want to see it at home or if it work fine.

So I unpacked the toy, I saw the remote control (quite nice), 2 piles AAA, 1 RS232 cable, then no SD card. I was like "noooo". But after unpacking the receiver. I open the small panel in front and the SD card was there ! (phew). There was an analog 3 plugs cables too, which I have already enough at home. They should provide a S-video or composite cables instead ;)

After some web browsing (future-fta.info). I download the lastest firmware for my 3500SD, put in on the memory card. Start my receiver, configure the antenna (took me a while to find the good one, because I had no idea what antenna was on the top of the building). Then i flashed with the new firmware.

After going to setup the nagravision-2 to 0901 (Bell Express Vu). I wait some seconds, everything started to work. I did a blind scan. Got 378 tv station and like 54 radio.

Everything is working fine. There is some bug in the firmware, but still it's a very nice device. (The EPG, the guide that display on TV has a bug only display the next 2 episodes and not like the next 3 days).

I then go on my CD card, backup the channel list. Go on my computer. Use Channel Master, and edit my favorties, my channels, etc. Go back on the receiver. put the SD card back in, reload my new channel list.

Everything work fine. Quite a device ! Next part will be to connect 2 more antennas on it. One on Echostar 110 and another on 119 to get like 600 more tv stations. But that's only in a far futur.

As for the copag cards, they are at home, Im leaving work soon! It's going to be nice to play with REAL cards ;)

I told a couple of people, I would post pictures where I moved, so there we go:

Let's start by the kitchen first floor, the first view look a bit like this when you enter the place. I like it downstair look really sweet.

Then we have the dinner place, with light around and that's about it pretty nice, pretty standard.

By the entrance there is another room where im going to put my poker table, we have to get the old frigidaire, oven, and washer/dryer machine out first and then I can do some more clean up. I might put the poker table in the dinner room if we play thought.

This is the view you see when you get up stair, the 50s studio room or so. My cough remove a lots of the effect. Because there was a big red chair and that's it. But still it's quite special.

Weekend of joy ;)

Ok, not that much because it was mostly painful, but still. I'm now in my new place, bigger, better, nicer, 10 minutes closer to work. I won at the poker satellite, I have my free place at the QPT (150$ inscription). I will get my FTA receiver this week and the 2 last DVDs from my order, everything seem to be good so far.

The moving saturday was perfect, no problem at all. The weather was 5 degree celcius, I couldn't ask better. Like today it's minus 10 and raining/snowing terrible. I was so LUCKY on that one. Probably the best day of january (really special for winter). Everything is at the new place, there still a lots of work to do, but during next week, life should get back to normal.

The only thing is that Internet is not working yet. Usually it's 2 to 5 days, it's been 4 days, damn thing can't wait to get the net back.

Poker:
I subscribed at the QPT (Quebec Poker Tour) Sattelite sunday. 25$ + 5$ (for the place), to have a place, 6 peoples at the table. The winner - 150$ (Free QPT inscription). There was 40 satellite, so there will be a minimum of 6000$ in cash for the tournament. It's the first time I do a satellite like that, and it's VERY fast. Every 10 minutes the blind go up. You start with 5000tokens, the blind at 50/100, then 100/200,200/400,500/1000,1000/2000,1500/3000,2000/4000.

After an hour it's 1500/3000 that's mean the 5000tokens you have don't last long. So most games finish around 1-1h15. (Or before). That's also mean you have to be a bit lucky and a bit agressive, you cannot just sit tight and wait.

And of course, I won ;)

The résumé of my game:
Guys in front of me (right) got the one in front of me (left) out really early, he doubled his stack then he got the one at his left (top of table) out too after a while of playing (his stack was getting too small). From there he had like 60% of the tokens on the table (T17000 or so), I was like at T6000, the guys at my right T4000 and at my left like T3000. I put the guys at my right all-in, and got him out, so I was around T10000. There I was in good position, with only 3 of us left. The guys at my left went all-in vs the chips leader. Very lucky he got like T6000 (3000-4000 tokens from the leader who got down to like T13000 or so). Way better for me, then in a hand he put like T4000, I call all-in, he fold, I got the lead there, I was around T14000, he was like at T10000 and the guys at the left like T6000. A couples of hands after, we go see the flop, he put like T4000, I call ALL-IN. I had J-7 i believe, He had like 9-6 and the flop was like J-9-3, K, and something like 2. I won and got his huge stack of chips. Putting me in big lead.

Heads-up, I was around T24000, and the left one at T6000. I thought I would eat him alive, I had a huge lead, The blind was 1000/2000, I do an all-in Ad-6d, He got K-K, and got another K on the flop. Right after, I got Qc-Jc suited, all-in, he got another K-K, after like 3 hands (where I got some blinds), I do another all-in with like J-7 because the flop was J-9-3 or something, well he show me his KK (3 times in 5 hands...). I was really getting low and lost the balance power there (less than T7000). After a couples of hands, I was more agressive, stealing most blinds I did another all-in with a real bad hand (I needed to raise my stack bad). I win with some luck (he didnt had anything too). From there I got more than the half, I got back the power. I did some more agressive move, I get back to like T21000, So I was finally after a while back in command (because I was SO close to lose). I go All-IN with As-8s, he had like K-10, the board was 7-7-6-6-4, I won on that one.

That's it :) Im happy and I have my place for the big tournament.

For my TV toy (FTA Receiver), I checked on UPS, the box left Los Angeles 2 days ago. Im hoping that's will take 7 days max to deliver (the expected delievry date is like 06 feb. which is monday next week. But if they can delivery friday before the weekend that's would ROCK ! (I know that UPS, I expect it to have it in 2 weeks in reality).
I can't wait to see how good that thing really work ;)

FTA receiver and more !

While checking new providers for TV and Internet, I decided to check every possibilities. The new coworker here talked to me about his FTA receiver. I checked HDTV OTA, FTA, normal cable prices, etc. Ended up buying a PANSAT 3500SD, HDTV output, SD card reader to flash and play mp3, all the goodies possible, the lastest version. I got a good deal on ebay. Im waiting my shipping confirmation, can't wait to have my new (illegal) toy. The lucky thing is, where I move there is already a dish installed ;)

This is the remote provided with the FTA receiver, look quite ok to me, the other thing too is, when checking different website for the same product, some peoples don't offer any remote or goodies with it.

Like me I got this extra data switch and a 128 megs SD bonus card with it, quite a nice deal if you ask me. I paid like 220$ CAD all included (shipping too) and most websit got the product at like 210-260$ CAD shipping not included and nothing included.

On similar news, my moving don't motivate me at all but I have to since it's tomorow. I fixed most of my addresses already and I got a better deal on my ISP DSL provider (I will save like 150$ at the end of the year for the same product).

Finally, computer is back at home. I wanted to order a motherboard on ebay to save some money but well I got impatient. I went to a small store close to my place, bought a cheap ECS 741GX-M (Not easy to find a athlon XP motherboard these day, it's outdated). 50$, work perfectly so far, all my problems are fixed, the other motherboard was messed up, doing random errors, random crash, random problems everything you want. At the end, it was booting up and was crashing right away.

After repairing and fixing stuff. Everything seem to work perfectly. Im happy too because vero was able to go on the internet, but not much else. Now, She has a computer for music, videos, games, web, msn, etc. Much better !

Also she will need a recorder for her french course. I was checking around the MP3 players, recorder, FM tuner, 1gigs, I saw the iRiVeR T10. Really cool product, Im looking forward to order that (mostly for the look because I saw some other kind that do the SAME stuff but hey the iRiver look good). I like this product so much more than a crappy iPod, Im not sure why peoples like ipod shuffle anyway, for the same price imo you can get better. Maybe I wait to move before ordering, because I will move this weekend. I was expecting to move before the 1st march, but it's better for my friend if I move for the 1st fabruary and the owner asked me too If I could move for date, peoples want it for the 1st feb. It's perfect with me, but that's leave me only 7 days. I have to start packing this week for this weekend. I have to check to rent a truck 20 feets and everything.

I know a really busy week coming up. I know I wrote nothing about Mexico, but this will take me a lots of time and I wanted to explain everything and make some good posts about my trip. Since Im too lazy to do any good posts and my PC at home is dead. I just do a quick post from work. In theory, we found a place to move. It's a friend house in Montreal, since he is a musician, he got a contract for 4 month outside and we would live with him at his place (and he want someone to watch the house).

I got my "Bail", whatever it's called in english signed thought until july. If I don't have any problem, the landlord (or something) will just break it and I will be abl eto move, else it might be a pain to either find someone to come live at my place, or like I don't want to pay 3 months for nothing.

Lots of more stuff to say, not enough time to write (especially at work with the overload of works and the new guy that doesn't help me much really still).

Might not be a good way anyway but I ordered that last night (Im trying a new provider too in florida, the other one was 10 min from home, but did bankrupt and I doubt about the new owner (was dvdsoon)). Back from mexico !

There we go, yesterday I finally arrived back home safely. The return was a pain, stupid US custom took more than 2h30 (plane flight time between was 1h45). I missed my plane, took the next one to newark (NJ), then I was stuck there for the night, no more flight to Montreal, I had to sleep in a hotel like 4-5 hours. Got in Montreal in the morning... Missing 1 baggages. I still have to recall them today since I have no news from them yet.

The travel was awesome, I visited like 10 towns, took a tons of pictures and movies. Did so much stuff. (Tequila visit, Pyramids, Running bulls, Beach, Mountains, New year stuff, foods, shopping, etc.) I'm not sure when I will have time to update my blog thought. so MUCH stuff to say.

Back at work, with a LOTS, whole lots of problems and stuff to do. Really painful to be back here this morning. It seem like it will take me a month to be able to breath a little bit.

Oh and I got more UPS problems. God do I hate these companies that ship with this most crappy courrier ever.

Much more to come, maybe this weekend, else I start like my "Resume" next week then followed by parts, like 12 parts or so. I have to convert pictures, etc. Should help too.

3 days of work left before vacation !
OMG I won't work for like 2 weeks and half, it's going to be SOOOOOO good.

This say: I finally got my package by UPS, but guess what, I got my books from Canada post before the poker chips ;) I can't believe I did put an order friday night on amazon, monday morning I have the package... Last monday the package were shipped at UPS, I got it yesterday afternoon. To add to the insult, the Canada Post package was sent from Ontario, the UPS package from 15 minutes of my home, 25 minutes from work !

Midway arcade treasures doesn't worth much, get boring fast, only the mortal kombat and some 10 minutes sessions are good not much else, maybe it's good on multiplayer thought.

I downloaded the poker game for my PC (the same version as the PSP). I hope it's good. WSOP was not working on my PC.

Random things:

- Saw a girl leave a car in front of me, to take the bus... The guys took some books or something and threw* them by the windows. Looked like a break up :)

- Went to the St-Joseph Oratory to buy a rosarie for vero grand mother. Bad idea just before Christmas, soooo many peoples think going to the church a couples of days before christmas will make "God" happy.

- Was on the 40 highway, going to the Anjou shopping center, it's a 3 way highway, everyone was going around 85km/h (limit is 70). There is a tons of traffic. I heard a noise at my left. I saw the police give a ticket to the guys on the left lane.. Talk about bad luck. He was following 2 cars and everyone was going at 85-90.... Over 20 cars around he had to get the ticket.

- Bought myself Midway Arcade treasures for my PSP, it include like 20 retro games, (Mortal Kombat 1 - 2 - 3) and many others, but I think only 3-5 games worth the packages. Still was not that expensive, almost bought a poker game too that was not too bad price wise. Hard decision !

- Bought myself 8 UMD protector for my travel, that's going to be usefull, I only had a case for 3 UMDs that was broke.

- There is too much peoples shopping for xmas, take forever to go buy something quick !

- Got a haircut saturday afternoon, waiting was long, but hey im ready for vacation :)

- UPS won't deliever my package before tomorow (it's only been a week to change the delivery address.... God bless Canada Post (they are really good, I bet I get my amazon books thursday max) and Fedex.

- I still have no found anything for my love yet. I will be in big trouble soon enough

- I have to do a BIG clean up of my appartment, Parents are going over and after vacation, my love is, no choice !

- I have 4 days of work left, since it's almost 11h00 and I finish at 11h00 friday ;)

I never buy books usually, everything I want it on the internet. So it was a hard decision to take to spend 50$ (taxes and shipping included on 2 books). But I did it since Midway Arcade Treasures got a really bad review (5.2/10), even if I might buy it, I will probably read them in the planes to mexico so it's all good !

I bought Harrington Volume I: Strategic Play and Volume II : The End Game

These 2 books are considered the best ones. Everyone is always saying these are the masterpieces of all poker books. With The Theory of poker to complete them (that book is the epic of poker mathematics I heard and VERY complicated). I think I will really enjoy the reading to perfect my poker !

THE SNOW THIS MORNING, took me 2h30 to get at work (usually take me 25minutes). There is so much snow, the worst part, after getting to the south shore. I went to take the higway, a big VAN (who was not loaded/light) was not able to move anymore, I had to wait 30-40minutes, police made everyone move back and I took a really dangerous/harzardous* road (my car was getting stuck into the snow, but I made it to the highway really badly).

This is not a picture of the actual snowstorm but my car looked like that this morning, and the snow never stopped. I can tell you it was a big mess. Couldn't find a good picture :/

First thing, I should remember it to everyone 2-3 times a year, UPS suck, they are the worst delivery company ever. I got another splendid example. I have my poker chips set from my promo delivered at home. But of course me not being home, I call UPS, say, just ship it at work, give the adresse, everything is fine.... It took them 48 hours to change the address... Just another example of how BAD they are. I still not have my packet. I wouldn't be surprise if I don't get it at all. But then another story will follow =P

I had some training at work for the scheduling software, so the last 2 days were pretty relax, sitting and watching the guy giving us info. God I need more of these trainning really. Today, since it's my co-worker last day (He come tomorow for like 3 hours) we did a lots of transfert. Emails, calendar, contract, paper, work in progres, etc. It's pretty relax too. They are supposed to hire a consultant while im in mexico and I think they found out the new guys. More to come !

Now I really need a gift for this weekend brother party. I have to shop more for xmas (I have nothing so far and I have NO idea what to buy). I need to buy midway arcade treasure when I can. I have a work party (pool and beers) tomorow night. That saturday night, friend want to do a LAN party sunday. I guess my weekend should be quite busy.

Poker, I did spent the last cash I had on my titan poker account (5 tourney did it prety fast). I was wondering I will put some money back (from my withdraw). I was at 100stars from a 10$ bonus. Maybe I could do some smaller tables. Dont know if Im goint to invest there again. I still have a 60$ on partypoker from the free instantbankroll.com. Maybe after all vacations. I was looking to buy myself some copag cards too. I should post more about them.

Before vacation ! I can't wait to have a break, it's going to be good for my health. (read brain). I have a lots of shopping to do this week. First some stupid gift for my brother party this weekend. 10-15$ that "Increase pleasure in life" if you guys/girls have any suggestions. Second I need to shop for Veronica xmas gift (she read my blog, be quiet ;) I also have to buy a cake for the same party.

I finished my poker chips set promo (not sure I wrote it already maybe I did). Hopefully It get shipped today or not far this week, that's worth 200$US alone (+shipping +taxes usually). I also did a withdraw of 350$ on my poker online site. 100$ were credited on my credit card and 250$ will be a bank draft. There was like 6 or 7 methods to get the cash. This was leaving me with like 100$ in my account, I tried a 30$ tourney, a 15$ and a 10$ one. So Im down to like 50$, I wonder if I will be able to get that back up again or if I will play bad and get to 0$ =P Whatever I do, I still have made money that's all good.

This made me remember, I watched High Roller The Stu Ungar story this weekend, it was a good movie overall, really more a drama than a poker movie thought. But still a good one. I also downloaded "Shade", I have to check this week. Seem good too !

Played World of Warcraft, my priest is up to level 22, I did play an America's Army match last night we won 7-4 quite a victory. Busy time ahead, billard (pool) friday after work, saturday party at brother place, a couples of stuff to plan, cleaning to do at home (Parents are coming over the 23 for xmas). It's going to be the first time I don't go at Saguenay for xmas, this will be at brother home. But I don't mind much I won't have to go there the 24 and come back the 26 to take my plane the 27. This make me think I need a camera digital for some pictures during vacation, hmmmm. !

You bet I did it again ! second place in the same tournament than yesterday, 15$ buy in 1500$ Garanty. This time I was really close to win. I had a huge leading a one time 20000chips to 80000, I was good then luck dropped, low cards after low cards, was calling, no flop at all he got back to 51000/49000, allin he had AK i had A4 diamond, no diamon on table no 4, i lost there. Im still quite happy. At this rate I can leave my job and do a tourney a day =P

Poker bad luck almost gone

I was playing really bad last week, I was down to 50$ in my bank, I was sad, so I played a 15$+1.50$ tournement today, 89 players....

Here is the result:

I'm really happy I finished it second on 89 players (15$ buy in - 1500$ tournement) !! I got 300$ cash in. The first guys, when we were two was like at 75000chips I had around 17000, I when up to 49000 and him 40000, but 2 bad luck lost 20000chips, then all-in he had 66 and me A-4, I lost. The guys elimated 6 persons almost back to back on the table just before that's why he got so high, I was only sitting there doing nothing. He really helped me a tons to finish second because at one time i was like4 or 5 on chips at the table. He really played good and his first place was fully for him. (450$).

I still have to come work tonight to close the servers. They cutting the electricity tomorow in the building for like 14 hours. Annoying that I have to come here past 22h00 tonight (or before 7h00am in the morning). I was planning some beers but I might stay home and relax until that time. (Just boring to lose an hour coming here back and forth).

But still IT'S FRIDAY ! wooooo, except that small thing. Tomorow is the work party and it should be nice in theory and if it's boring then I just eat, drink some, check the gifts and leave for home. Nothing planned sunday.

Poker yesterday was cool. small tables, only 10$ but the peoples there are friendly and they LIKE poker. That's make it a good experience (I think bernard liked it too). The bad part is just before the game, he stopped home. I was playing on titanpoker.com for like 1 hour, I was around 3,50$ short not much. He played a hand put me all-in on a hand I was sure losing and killed my last 15$ like that ! OMG OMG. I will remember him forever =P

I played a bit back home (since I really got no hands at all during that night and lost). I was losing some still. Was kinda around 20$ moving to 21 down to 18, etc. Then after an hour I got Ace,Ace, I think the guys at my left had KK or QQ, the flop was like 36393, i raised every turn like 4$, he called I made like 18$ that hand. Finished like 16$ over at least thats pay back my tournement i lost (10$ and a part of the other 10$). I was quite unlucky lately, everytime I had a hand nobody would bet.

And I learned a new name for Pocket Nine (99). They are called German Virgins :) I like the name hehe, because 9-9 in poker is a "no no", in german no no mean "nine nine" which mean virgin. So peoples told me :) I still have to validate that part.

I wanted to edit my last post then got too lazy, I was checking the web today and saw something interesting. A lots of peoples move to online poker site to other sites to get the bonus. Im already on one (bonus) but I was not expecting to check that this way.

Lets say you subscribe to partypoker.com, you put 100$, if you play 500 raked hands every 100 hands they give you 20$ back until you reach 100% of your original deposit. (there is maximum usually between 500-800$). Lets say you play your 500 ranked hands (a ranked hand is a hand where you pay to see the flop) and you finish with no lost no win (thats the big part). Then you will have 200$ in your acccount. You then move to the next site and deposit 200$ to get more bonus, etc. I have seen peoples doing that and seem to work quite well, like the promos over pokersourceonline.com. Really nice stuff I have to check.

It's quite a world there to get money from (or lose money from). It seem you have to play smart. I have seen peoples getting PSO points and get over 1700$ of stuff with hands points. (No idea of how many cash they put it thought). But it seem even if the guys lost 1500$ he didnt lost everything since he got 1700$ back in store and gift certificates. It's like my promo right now, a 350$ poker chips set. If I can do my stars on titanpoker.com and keep my cash over 100$ I will have make 100$ from bonus + the poker chips. Even If I has to put in an additional 100$, It seem I would still have a nice part of it.

Citrix 4.0 nightmare and too much work

Monday was bad enough with the gov taxes report and a tons of stuff at work, I had to work like 2 hours at home during the night, but then tuesdays came. Tons of work and citrix 4.0 upgrade was planned for that night. Everything was supposed to be easy. In theory we were only moving the farm database to a SQL server then we were putting the 2 upgrades, not much else. The database was messed up, corrupt etc. We had a tons of problems, took an extra 2 hours easy. Then we run the upgrade we got a.... FAIL. We try to uninstall it, the server doesn't reboot (we have disk mirroir thought). We tried stuff all night long, both system are the same and really messed up. Finished at 1h30am really exhausted. Tonight I wanted to relax. Thats what I do, tomorow is another big day. I lost at poker tonight, played decent but really bad cards. So lost some cash, but still over my initial deposit (not much). Tomorow Im going to play at that guys place a 10$ - 8 peoples, but he was short like 3 players today still. (if anyone around my place is bored, its like around 19h15 and well its not a big game. Small place, not enough chips (cheap too), but still, it's only 10$ and decent poker.

I hope the week will get better. Tomorow I have to clean 2 big thing at work, then should be a little bit more relax. Office party saturday should be fun, it's close to where I live, might take a taxi to go there. Friday I forgot my plan, I shall see.

Can't wait for xmas vacation, too much work right now.

Little resume:
My vaccines, my co-worker leaving in 3 weeks at work, I went to play with new peoples thursday and I registered with real money on the internet for the first time, I play world of warcraft again but in spare time, new music group my friend made me discover.
I guess I will write them from monday to sunday:
I skip monday, tuesdays because it was boring work.

1 - Co-worker:

Wednesday, I start the usual day of work, we doing a disaster recovery at work. I have to do report for the government (exporting taxes data), I have to fix one customer report, I have to recompile some test environment. Big week (so will be next week).

The morning, we were talking a bit, since me and my co-worker are in the same office, because we do tech support together, network stuff, admin, etc. I do the admin stuff for the unix server and the ERP database, he usually handle windows and telecom. Even thought I can do both easy. So around 9h00, he close the door. Usually he do that when he has something a about more tricky to talk me about. Someone in the dept, some employe getting fired (We have to close the accounts ,etc. we always know first). Then that morning he told me he was leaving. Like OMG in my head hehe. I couldn't believe he would move, I have been there almost 4 years and him like 3-4 months before me. Secure job, etc. but at one time he wanted to be more a project manager. They hired 2 new peoples (since 2 left) and strangly, they were 2 boss of us (go figure that part). Pissed him off, I know that was bugging him a lots. But I thought he would be not secure enough to move. He got a network admin job for a packaging company that package pharmaceutical stuff. Seem really nice, nice job, kinda happy for him now.

Still, that's mean, if someone is looking for a work. Send me an email, and I wonder how stuff will turn out. I like most of my job (always boring part but still). He do interesting part too and more boring part that I would'nt want to do (he was really good on documentions etc.). No meeting yet, I know he will transfert me all contract stuff, purchase emails, our "password file", etc. But I wonder who they will hire and for what position and where I will be in the picture. I shall see soon enough in the future 2-3 weeks.

2 - Thursday poker night with new peoples:

So I looked a lots about poker in Quebec, I check the forums often to see what's up. Some guys thursday was looking for a 8th player to go play poker at his place. Since the place was only 4 streets where I live, I say ok (and it was only a 10$ buy-in). The 8 peoples were great, really there to play poker, they were all using the cutting card. All serious, I lost in 4th place but I was pretty happy, if they do it again I might go thursday again. Nice night overall.

3 - Vaccines:

Friday I finish at 11h00, go at my schedule meeting at the Clinic for my vaccines. I was not sure I wanted them, then I just told myself I rather be safe than sorry.
The guys was really cool, professional, was explaning everything, all the precautions.

He told me I didnt received a second "Rougeole" vaccine at 1 years and half. So I could get it for free. I got Tethanos and that for free. Then I got Hepatite A (60$), Hepatite B (40$), Tiphoide (50$) and opening my "folder" - 50$, 200$

Then I got some Malarina or something for Malaria. When I will go to certain part of Mexico he told me to take 1 before, during the time Im there and like 2 after. He also gave me 8 strong one for diaphrea (gave = medical company inssurance will pay 80% of them).

a Nice 280$ for my friday, and My left shoulder got 4, right 1 and I can say my left shoulder feel pain when I touch it since then. It's almost gone now thought. But I don't mind vaccines at all. Needle don't scare me or anything, I like looking at the needle when it enter my body (Always give you the feeling it's going to hurt, then almost nothing).

Friday, my friend finished it training for his prison guardian job, he left saturday morning with his computer, etc. for home then Port-Cartier next for his job (poor him it's really FAR, hehe). He also made me listen "Milk Inc.", last week but then I didn't got time to listen. We watched a video clip, heard some song it's really gooood. I burned 2 CDs going to listen to that all week in my car.

I also got the last email of my love the week, she left for Las Vegas for the week then going back to San Luis Potosi. I have to wait a week before I get some news again ! I really miss her.

4 - Saturday poker online + gaming:

The 2 amigos I have decided after like 8 months that they wanted to play World of Warcraft again, I was like omg so boring. But since my brother and his GF still pay every months for they accounts. We decided to play some, I started a new priest, he is now level 14, Im not really sure I will dedicate my time to wow again but it was a bit fun to rediscover the world. This say, I have been looking for the poker online for a long time now.

One guys thursday talked me about a way to get a 75$ for free to play. www.instantbankroll.com", seem to work fine if you win enough. I did register but I have to call monday at work to validate my account. He told me everything work fine. If you want to get the 75$ back thought you have to play at least 500 raked hands (hands that you go in the pot). That's mean you have to play a lots and good because 75$ can vanish fast.

But then I looked on the web at www.pokersourceonline.com (instantbankroll use that site too), and saw that promo:

300 nevada jack chips, that probably worth around 350$ CAD If you 1- deposit 100$ at titanpoker.com (or other site) and if you get 3500 stars. I tried a lots of online poker software already (all of them have fun money or play money (for fun)). I tried titan and I was really happy with the interface (one of the best with fulltiltpoker.com). So I said, why not, and if that's go really bad I can just stop and get the rest of my money back and just cancel the promo. I wanted to try real money for a long time. The problem with the promo is that getting 3500 stars WILL be hard, that's why they do that they want you to deposit a couples of 100$ to get it, if you lose a lots. Normal table 25c/50c give you 2 stars by hand, and 10$+ tournament like 20 starts, everything lower than that give you nothing. So you have to go at bigger tables than 1cent/2cent.

So saturday I try a couples of tables. first a 25c/50c No-limit texas holdem. I was doing really good. With a 10$, I was up to 18$ then I got excited called too many hands, played bad (not tight enough). And lost that 10$. I then tried a small 6 vs 6 turbo tournament (10$ + 1$ for the fee).. I lost (finish 4th), but I didnt liked it because the TURBO mean the blinds go up every 3minutes. Mean you start with 1000 chips, 5/10, then 10/20, 15/30, 20/40, 25/50, etc.
After like 21-24 minutes (too lazy to calculate) you already at like 150/300 blinds (of 1000chips its a lots). I got a couples of bad hands (even if I was in good positions). I got nothing, went all-in and lost.

Then I went back to another standard 25c/50c table, I put another 10$, I lost it faster than I could remove my pants in sex situations. It went bad, I did a couples of nice turn, I called an unsure all-in at 7$ on a hand and lost it.

I then tried a 6 players tournament, not turbo 6 players, It's like 7 min rather than 3. A lots better. I played tight I got a LOTS of luck in 2all-in in a row. I won with a AK he had AA, I got a strait, the other time the guys had like three 4, I had a queen, i got 2 queen the 2 last card. I was low money at end but finished second (first is 42, second 18$). I got 7$ back.

I played again a bit, lost then left. 30 down for saturday, I went to bed to meditate on it, because I was a bit upset.

5 - Sunday (like saturday, poker and wow):

I got up in the morning with that 30$ in my head all the time. I open the screen to play again, I was more relax and ince I got second last night a 6 vs 6, after relaxing I went for another sit'n'go (6players). I did play very well, but lost at end end I was chip leader. I got really bad hand, finished second, another 7$.

I then play World of warcraft a bit, was telling my friend Jeff about it, he called me crazy like usual ;) Told me I was like 20$ short etc.

After 2-3 hours I got bored and went back to poker.
I open a normal 25c/50c table. I play relax, watch stuff, play tight, it was going bad (down to like 5,75$). Win a good hand then another back to like 9$. I played some really good hands then got up ato 18$. Sit back, play tight, big raise when I have big card (they were rare). Got a good hand vs another one that called on not much 6$. I went up to like 28$. I then stopped to relax.

I was like back to 98$ after that in my account (I know some total doesnt balance, but I dont remember all stuff exactly in order).

I played a 3rd sit'n'go at 6 players, I finished second AGAIN, another 7$. that was 3 second places for me, and I played good, but bad luck at end again. Bad cards on BIG blinds hurt you (when you have like 2000chips and the blinds is 400 you rather not lose 5 in arow).

Then afters like an hour of wow. I had an America's army match (we lost like pig 7-0). I decided to play a last tournament, didnt wanted to sit at a table too long. Tournament take like 30 minutes.

I try a 10 players table 3 winners, 50$ - 30$ - 20$. Was going bad at the beginning got down from 1000chips to like 500-600. I kept losing then played more tight (mean I was waiting only for big big cards). I got some good hands, decent flops (was about time). I then make some good move and a lots of cash on winning hands. Some peoples lost, i make someone go all-in and clear him. I was then chips leader for a long time, lost it a bit, I was like thirds in chips with 4 peoples lef but in good position still (like 2800, 2400, 2200 in chips). I got a some nice hands got back like second. Another player got out from an all-in. Three left (I was sure to make 20$ I was happy already). I did got decent hands played great and tight, some nice bluffs. I put someone else out, I was like 6200 chips to 3800. The chips moved a bit he got some back. I got some back. Then I got Q-5, he got Ace and nine I believe. We both call:

The flop 5-5-K, I get "check" faking I had nothing, he bet like 400 I call,.
9 drop (5-5-K-9), I check (Im bad like that) he bet like 1200 chips. I call.
5-5-K-9-6 or something drop. I check, he put 1200 in chips, (2800 already + blinds).
I then raise 2400, he had like 800 left he had no choice to call.

He call, I win with my three 5 :) 50$ My first win !! on a 10vs10 (I want a 6vs6 someday). So Im up to 138$ in my account now. I probably got 250-400 stars easy this weekend. I need 3500 to get a free poker chips set. It's going to be long but If i play good enough I hope I will get some cash on that. I really have to use patience (that's the hard part really).

I started checking the different chips yesterday. I was happy to see that NONE are close to the Paulson I bought, They either feel plastics or cheap or not cool. The best ones aret he Tiki kings which I got 7 samples so I could compare better (I wanted to have a stack). They are really COOL looking, they are in ceramics, stack well, sound good, texture is not too bad. Some other kind, maybe the nexgen I forgot in the middle range were not too bad too, they were felling not plastics but different.

All that to say, I made the best choice, I'm very happy with the chips I bought. I might get a 200packs of tiki kings someday who know.

On the poker topic, I looked a lots of the poker tournement and stuff here in Québec, I was impress there is quite a big community. I have to go play some matches soon enough.

PSP GPS, If only it were from a company !

I was doing my routine PSP check today and I saw that on a forum:
It's a GPS connected on the PSP serial port (the remote command). With a homebrew software, the guys were able to make it work with a really basic program.

This is really cool because I want a GPS on my PSP with a car mount and a nice software would be nice. But the problem is that it's only homemade atm. I hope the guys will go further and make something nice buyable to connect directly on the PSP or something. We shall see.

Friday Night Poker

Post related to poker, skip if you don't like really:

After moving coughs around to make some place for my table (god my apt. is SO small). We were finnaly set to play around 8h00, we did wait one late commer a bit, we started like 25 minutes after. (He finally got home at 8h45). We were 7, nice numbers. 8 is really the max for my table. 140$ + someone did 2 buy in and someone 1 (200$ pot). We started playing, I did REALLY good most of the night. Decent bets, good raise, I got a nice chips pot soon enough and I was able to keep it most of the night. The person who did 2 buy-in was so unlucky, he lost most of his chips right after, 2 bad beats. (he almost got back in action with 1 chip left, he did bet his chip, got 4, then bet all 4, got like 16, bet all his 16 got like 50, etc. But then got a bad hand vs mr. luck. Mr. luck - There was a friend of my friend who was not really a good player, but then he started calling everyone. No hand or hand he was just calling everything. Usually a player like that lose his chips in like 30 minutes maximum. He did win for 4 hours non-stop. I never seen so much luck in a night. He called my friend on a all-in he got a full house I believe on the river, he had like a 5 and a 8. Then my turn came, I had a pair of queen, he had like 10-9, the flop was (I believe not sure but similar to that) a Q-J-7. Me having three Queen and not much else on the table, I was kinda sure to win. I put 3/4 of my pot (100 in chips and a bit more). He call me..... I was like "wtf he had to call me, nobody sane would put like 40$ on "nothing". Ok, so he got a strait... and beat me. (I was quite disapointed to have such a good hand, having playing tight and good most of the night and lose like that. But still, bad luck happen, I will survive. He did the same thing to my other friend. He had like a 3 and a 6, he call my friend who of course had a better hand. He got another strait.... Same thing with my next friend a bit later, he was going in everything. Friend got something good, he got a full house with the 2 last card (I believe he bet like 40$ on a 7 and a 9). 2 persons were left, him and his friend. They were betting a lots on everything. I saw him put around 60$ on nothing he had a 3 and a 4 his friend had a 3 and a 5.... How in a sane mind can you bet more than 60$ on a 3 and a 4, with nothing on the table, the chance that the opponent beat your 4 is like 99% :) Anyway, he called everything and lost most of his pot at the end around the 10 last minutes. So they ended up splitting like 160$/40$ or something like that (40$ for mr. luck). Actually I was happy to see his luck faded at the end because it was not making any sense.

Anyway, it was a fun night really. But I never seen someone win that much with hands that never have better than a nine ;) We had a good time, lots of alcohol.

Too bad tornwordo was not able to come, we would have been eight and it's always fun to meet new peoples. Next time most likely !!

We went out friday night was pretty boring, then saturday I had some poker night. I had a good start, then I started getting impatient, I did a lots of play that usually I should have folded, I was going in some hand I would most likely lose. Then i lost my stack away, I did a rebuy, I was doing better then I lost on a All-in which my hand was strong but bad luck happen. This say, poker is long, peoples that come play always seem in a hurry, omg it's been 4 hours time to stop. It's a bit annoying for that.

I was in a bad mood since I lost 30$ oh well hehe. Talking of poker I ordered 2 samples pack from epokereals.com the tiki king one and the showdown and a keyring it's going to be nice to see the difference.

I played more SOCOM on my PSP this is really cool. The online play is nice, me and my friend started a clan, and we enjoy getting killed ;) It's really good for a handheld FPS game, with only 1 analog stick. Nice game.

Learning spanish

Last night I installed a software I got on the net to check if that was looking good to learn. I did some test, I did learn the basic stuff. But my memory is so bad, like I learn a word, 10 minutes after I don't remember it at all.

I think it's going to be really hard because of that, but the program (of course only do basic basic learning) seem good. I have to pratice more !

Since I'm going to take the plane 9 hours soon. I got a new game today, I like it so far, it's the first FPS i own, well designed, the animations are awesome, the movies too, the gameplay is a bit hard to adapt but I'm getting better, that with Midway Arcare Treasure (16 games or so including Mortal Kombat 1-2-3) will be perfect for the trip :).

I still wonder thought if I will play online a lots (SOCOM play 16 vs 16 online no lag at all I heard) and if I will get the headset for it (to talk online). I will see later if I really play that much or if the singles missions are enough for me.

Midway coming out in a week I think, I can't wait to own in Mortal Kombat again, I was quite a player when I was young and naive ;)

Monday, I was coming back from lunch with my co-worker, we were talking normally, we get close to work, there is a place with a stop and then you have to "yield the way?" (anyway the kind of sign where you have to wait the other cars to go first, then when the way is free you go). So I get at the stop behind that car, but usually peoples move forward and slowly get in the way. You know you get used to it, I was not watching, then realised the car in front has not moved a bit (I was watching car coming from my left). I had a small contact with the car in front, really nothing. Kind of contact I would do if a friend is ahead of me and I want to bugger him. Anyway, the girl get out like if it was the end of the world. I was like "geesh relax". I give him my numbers, license plate, name, then leave. I check at work, like some small scratch on the bumper, nothing noticable.

Tonight, his boyfriend call me trying to tell me he will have to repaint the bumper of the car, how we want to deal to paid for his car blah blah. I was like wtf, I have nothing on my car, how can his car be damaged ? I told him he can get an estimate, but I wont pay for it, If he want, we can call the insurrance even if the ammount is 60$. The car looked like an old '97 or something mine is a shiny 2003 model.

I can't believe I got a call for that. I bet he will call me back later with his estimate to try to make me pay. If he want a penny from me, he will have to call his inssurance for sure.

After calling the car dealer for my car maintenance (and to put winter tire) and getting a confirmation of my vacation from my boss and checking planes ticket - 995$ CAD 9 hours/9hours duration - 2 weeks. I had to check for vacine, since everyone was telling me about it... Damn I got a bit surprise about the price. I called a place that only do that "Clinique du Voyageur".

Documentaries

I found out a really nice torrent site this weekend. www.mvgroup.org, they offer only documentaries. I found that site after downloading 4 TV documentaries of Elizabeth, the virgin queen. I checked some doc yesterday, 1 about North Korea, that was impressive. 2 about vikings, 1 about samurai sword etc. I have a lots more in progress that I still copy.

I noticed Quake 4 was out too, I started that download with and Star Wars Battlefront II. I want to know if the game is fun. If it is, I will buy it for my PSP.

I found out some good Learning spanish stuff, but it's from English to spanish and not French to spanish, my brother has good learning stuff at home, I will probably start there rather than from english.

Weekend related, I spent my friday night with my sweet heart, then at 6h00am I drove her back to the Dorval airport. Saturday we did play some poker at brother place, was a quiet day, the bad part was there was 4 big smoker at brother place. Some stuff today, still smell HARD. I really hate that (like my autumn jacket). My friend came home, we watched DOOM and Legends of Zorro, 2 bad movies, especially zorro. Sunday some documentaries, some playing, etc. I started to watch SAW 2, awesome movie, but end was missing, I'm in progress to download another version atm.

I miss my angel a lots, I will go see her after christmas in mexico (in theory), then hopefully she will come live with me ;)

Wednesday, I went with my brother to see our friend exposition (He is a professional protograph). That was not bad, it was called "birth", that was pictures of pregnant woman. We went to take 1-2 beers after at his place. He showed us some stuff he did, really impressive. We went to see a brother friend right after, another beer, then I was back home. Relaxing night, first one alone since I meet my beauty =P

Brain is working hard, because 1 - lots of work, 2 - I keep thinking how life will turn out, if I go to Mexico this winter or later, when we will see each other again, etc, etc ! Lots of questions flow in my head.

Thursday, we went to dinner with her 2 friends at a vietnamese restaurant. It was quite good, I will go back there someday for sure. It was called "Tay bo". After we went to a bar on St-Laurent, I forgot the full name. I was getting really tired, we went back to the chamber they took to sleep. But sleep was BAD and tonight is the last night I spend with her. I don't want to be sleepy all night long. Life is hard !

This morning, I thought I got the good picture (of us together), then I realised it's the one she took with the friends she study with. I will replace this picture by the one of us when I get home tonight. She is the one on the right.

Sunday, we had a good day together, we were very lazy thought and too bad she had to get back where she stay before 9h00.

Monday after work, I did pick her at the school place where she perfection her english (which is really good and better than mine), then we went to the "Area" restaurant. It's one of the best table in Montréal ;) We did enjoy it a lots.

Yesterday we were not supposed to see each other, but the woman where she stay had mixed up some days and finally they only going at the theater tonight. So we were able to spend all the night together. She is so handsome, wonderfull, great, awesome, etc.

Thursday, we got a reservation at a restaurant, then we probably go out a bit (well I work friday thought) and friday is not sure since she leave saturday morning. Flight is like at 8h00am.

Saturday, I was at home bored, finally no poker so I didn't wanted to stay alone. I called a friend of my brother girlfriend. I know she is going out often and that she goes at a lots of rave / afterhour. She was going to a monthly party then at 3h00am the plan was to go to some kind of big DJ thing, that I would have skipped probably (was 50$). The "Amazone" party was not bad. I met her there at like 12h00am. Time went fast, some dancing, some talking etc. We then finally moved to a more private afterhour party. There was like 60-70 peoples there. We took 2 cars to go there, after a while my friend was really late. I had time to take 2 drinks, etc. I was getting a bit bored. I saw that really cute woman sitting alone, I watched her, she watched me. I decided to talk with her. Then, we sat on a cough there to talk more. We got back home, etc. (Imagine from there).

She is really really nice. A mexican woman, always smiling and happy. She has that positive thing in her. Hard to explain ;) But the only problem is that she leave next saturday :/ My usual luck. We talked about it, maybe we can see each other for the 31 december new year celebration in New York, or maybe I could go in Mexico this winter.. Else that's would be in april or may !

Bonus payment got in

The good thing Thursday is that I checked my bank account the work bonus was there (10% of salary). That's cool I was able to put like 3k$ on my credit card. I hope I will be able to clear all my debt with the 11-12k$ I will get in april from my 30000$ loan REER/RRSP. In theory, everything should balance more there without all these interest I will have to pay :)

Yesterday, I sure did relax good after work at 11h00, I went to take the picture for my driver license / health inssurance card. Took me 1h30, good thing I had my PSP with me. Then I slept most of the afternoon, then the evening I did some stuff, moved to my brother house to play some poker and drink some beers. Relax night overall, I wanted to go out thought. (My chance of meeting a girl is better if I go out than home I guess :)

Tonight we might play poker here and drink a lots. I have a full Adriano Ramos Pinto (Porto) left with another bottle with not much left and tons tons of beers in reserve !

Tomorow, nothing to do Ill probably play some games home. I saw 2-3 movies was out in theater, I will check around to download them I guess. This remember me I have a couples of DVDs to buy I really want. Austin, I don't have a PS2, so no Soul Calibur III for me ;) (I did play Soul Calibur I a lots on my PS1 thought, I remember unlocking everything).

Since I did nothing at all except laundry this week. I had more pictures that my brother sent me, so I post them today :) The picture doesn't show really good the big difference in size of the 2 dogs but still !

Grand theft auto: Liberty City Stories is out yesterday, I never played a GTA, but it's rated 9.0+ / 10 on most sites, I wonder if it's really that good. I might buy it later. If the weekend can start already, the week is boring. Good thing I finish at 11h00am friday at work. I forgot to go take my license / insurrance health picture this month, I suck I have to go there tomorow or friday.

I think I finished my shopping for the rest of the year (exception of some DVDs and 2-3 PSPs games), it's like over for my budget !

Friday, after paying an unplanned 90$ of tax on my poker chips, after work I stopped at a "Fly", I bought 6 folding chair with some black foam, 12,99$. Really nice deal they seem ok, like they won't broke after 2 times I use them. I also got myself a carafe for my porto. I bought 2 bottles of porto, a good old Ramos Pinto and some Smith woodhouse 1994. I tried the last one saturday but I was not impress. I will take some other glass this week to make sure it's not my style. We also went out friday night, drank a lots, got home at 5h30am, damn expensive night.

Saturday, I have not done much, Sunday I started oiling my poker chips, I did the half and went to see the new dog my brother bought. Her name is Lola, she is very cute. We played some poker and I got back home after driving back my friends to the place. Tonight will be very relax, I'll probably just watch movies.

That's a big theory there knowing UPS but I keep my hope that for ONCE they won't screw up (I had shipping problems with them like 5 times in a row).

I called them to hold the package at the lachine service center, so i would pick it up myself, since I can't have it deliver at work if they didn't tried yet at home..

In theory, they will get the package tonight around 18h00-19h00. I will call in case but tomorow they should hold it and I will be able to get my poker chips for this weekend.

Poker Table - Part 4

Friday night, we started the ultimate pedestal (because nobody that build a poker table actually build the pedestal, they all buy cheap ugly looking metal legs). It took us a while to decide the model we wanted to do (we had no model to follow, not like the top plans where everything is detailed). We then started cutting the front and rear with the leftover of the oak we had. Then we build the internal structure (2x3) to make it really solid. We finished by putting the side panel, but we didn't got time to do the angle cuts, we had to leave for beers.

Sunday, I got back there for more work. We did the angles cuts, we did the oval base cut, then we did more verathane on the racetrack. Couples of beers, couples of hours waiting, it was getting late we stopped there.

Tuesday, I fight the traffic jam and go to my brother directly from work. We were doing test to see if we were putting vynil on the side and on the base. But that was not looking like expected, not really good, and we had to find something to hide the plywood.... We went back to Rona and we bought 2 4x8 sheets of 1/8" (One is my oak, one of wild cherry tree). Then we did cut 6 parts for the side and the base for my table that night.

Wednesday: We did my brother part for the side, since we had the material and the experience, it was really quick. Then we lost some time installing my 4 locks. My brother will fix the pedestal and the table forever. I prefer to have a removable pedestal for transport. We then did some sandpaper + plastics wood + more sandpaper then we finished with the vanish, and we did another verathane on the racetrack (we did 6 coating, it should be really nice).

Let's start with the sucky part, UPS, there is no worst delivery in the world than them. Everytime someone send me a package by them, I can be sure there is a problem. They tracking is terrible, they lose stuff, they just suck.

I was looking at my poker chips tracking today... 4 days without tracking... I hope it's because they do a direct delivery between colorado and montréal, else that doesn't make any sense, the estimate arrival is friday (I hope they will deliver in time we might play this weekend).

This say, I was checking a bit yesterday to put a logo on the top of my table, I don't know what to put at all, I started checking for some cool joker, but 95% of the images are pure crap.

I only found this one which doesn't look too bad. But that doesn't provide me any special paint or ironing for it, I have to find a shop in montréal that could do logo on felt and that's look very rare. I checked to get poly acrylic paint but that seem like half of it doesnt work for felt. I might never do anything thought but that would look so much better with some kind of logo on it I think, it add personality.

Busy weekend report

Let's start by hmm friday (god I'm smart this morning): I finished work at 11h00 (woohoo), then slept some because I went out the day before. During the afternoon I moved to brother place to build the poker table leg. We did one central leg with a nice design, with an oval base... Look really good ! I took a couples of pictures but they still on the camera, I will post the part 4 probably this week or this weekend when I go back at brother house. We were almost over when his GF called, we had to go pick her at her friend place. We went there, took some beers, went out in a small bar, more beers some dancing, etc. I looked so bad though, since I was wearing "construction clothes". Then I had to go back to get my car (he live 30 minutes from Montréal). Her friend learned the same week that her boyfriend cheated her (I saw the other girl he cheated with geesh the mistake ). She is really beautiful and awesome, nothing to understand... So she wanted to go out to an "After" (We call that I guess because it's after 3h00am when the bars close). I drove back to montréal, but she couldn't contact a couple of peoples, we went to eat some poutine instead, we did check some stuff at home, some talk and I went back at her place to drop her. She had to pack her stuff to move out and go back at her own place. 6h00am, bed time ! (Too bad she didn't stay at my place to sleep ;)

Saturday 12h00: I got up in hope to go back finish the small part of the table leg missing, but I didn't really wanted to go there only 3 hours, since I was playing poker at 19h00 on the south shore (my brother live north shore), that's would have been like 1h15 in car from there.
So after doing nothing at home (watched a James Bond and some poker finals). I picked my friend Bernard (Last week wedding) and we moved to Chambly for the poker night. It started pretty good. (There was too many peoples missing thought), but the night ended pretty bad. I might explain later, but I rather not right now. (This blog is public interrest that everyone can read).

Sunday: I woke up a bit earlier than the day before, watched some TV, ate some not good for my health stuff like usual, played some Virtua Tennis, then went to finish that table. We did the last cuts (the side of the legs angles + some kind of block to lock the table with the legs). We did 3 verathane coating during the night (we had the 2 vanish coat before), watched a bad movie and did some clean up (geesh the mess was terrible). Tonight my brother will probably do 2 others coating. After that, for the finition, we have to vanish the front side (we used the same oak than the top) and cover the oval base of the table for a better look and probably the side. We might use vinyl to do that, we not sure yet, that's the last part we are not sure if that's going to look ever better (the look is really great atm).

I can't wait to post what we did because when you look on every other tables on the net, they all use metal folding legs, which really don't look that great. I bet a tons of peoples will ask how we did our ;)

Games and alcohol !

I bought 2 games this week for my PSP, NBA live 06 and Virtua Tennis: World Tour, I must say I'm pretty happy with both but I didn't had much time to play on them, hopefully this weekend I will have some time to get deeper in both. That should be really cool. A lots of games coming out for xmas, so I guess I might buy some more (especially Midway Arcade treasure with Mortal Kombat 1-2-3), then after it will be quiet.

For the alcohol part, I went out last night with my friend at the Fuzzy (Laval), it was not bad, nice bar, nice young women, decent prices, decent music, but still it was way too young (I'm getting old) but I bet the average was 19-20 and I'm 27... We took a really big amount of alcohol between 23h00 and 1h00am, then we left a bit after since of course I had to work. I'm at work this morning and I must say I have an "ok" shape and mind.

I didn't like the fact it was too young, I was almost thinking like "What I would do with a 18 years old girl in my life". I mean they still in school, they have different prioprities etc. I wonder, maybe it depend of the person thought. So it was not really my kind of bar just for that.

Poker Table - Part 3

After a day of unproductive work because I was tired, I stopped at a local shop in Montréal who make cupholders, I got us 12 jumbo one. Then I moved to my brother place again for another night on the project. That night was more easy, except the first part where we started doing my vinyl track (since we did my brother one the night before, mine was left). Another 1h30 of hard work, this is really the worst part, but I'm pretty happy with the result. The picture is a bit fuzzy, but you get the idea.

Then we started installing the T-nuts on the inside of the race with the bottom, we placed all pieces together, and we put 2-3 cupholders to make sure everything was holding tight (the cupholder fit really well and tight). The table was finally getting shape :) After the T-nuts installation we were ready to put the foam and the velt on the inside. We used the wonderful kick ass 3M Spray 77 to glue the foam, which worked perfectly, then after the cutting we were ready to install the velt.

This time, the wood was harder and the velt more resistant, we got the air gun out and we saved 1h30 easy. I gotta love my brother to have so much nice equipments around. Especially his DeWalt kit, that just priceless, worth every penny. Anyway after the cut, the result looked quite nice, the top is clean, etc. I didn't took a picture of the top yet. But the bottom look like this one, you can see the tons of "stitches" under it. I can't imagine how long that's would have been without that air gun .

Then we finished the night by putting the first part of Vanish (12-24 hours) on our racetrack, the next one my brother will do it alone tonight, since that's only take like 10 minutes max. The next step for us is to go buy some polyurethane or something similar to put over the vanish to have something more clean and sweet than the vanish itself.

Part 4 is the leg design, we decided to put a middle one and not 2 legs, also since I only did 5' 1/2 by 3' 1/2, I still have close to 3 feets of my oak sheet left, this will make both side of my leg, gonna be sweet, we have a basic design but I have to see with my brother what we gonna do exactly. We still have some wood left (the middle of the 4 inch track is good too, etc. We might do it before the weekend. This is the last part to come, with the final pictures soon enough !

Poker Table - Part 2

Monday: The biggest day for the projet! We woke up around 10h00, after some slacking and eating we called some store around they were all open (yay!). We went to "Club Tissus" another fabrics, way better than Bouclair we were the only 2 guys there with like 20 old women buying stuff hehe and 2 husbands waiting in the middle wondering what they were doing there ;) We found the foam we wanted, 1/2" for the middle, 2 inch for the side track (72x48 sheets). 40$ each if you're a member which we became fast enough for 17$) or 50$ for non-member by sheet hehe. We got 12 feets of vinyl for the side track too.
Invoice: 172$

We came back home and started for real. We cut the 1 1/2" track on the side (we had the 4 inch from last night). We did cut the all the 2 tables pieces one after another. We did the assembly of the first track with glue and screw. We then started to cut the nice sheet (oak, etc.). We did the racetrack then we did the middle really carefully (it's awesome I must say). The oak was quite harder to cut, after using some cheap jigsaw we had, we realised the blades and the jigsaw were not enough. We went to my brother workplace and borrowed the DeWalt jigsaw, we also stopped at a Canadian Tire and bought5 bosch wood blade (15$). God we were right on that, we still have used 4 blades that day. Especially when we did the cupholder holes later that day, the holes were making the blades burn a bit too much, we got a better technique at the end thought. Once we finished all the cuts, a lots of work was complete we thought, wrong, we started cutting the foam to make the side vinyl stuff. We wanted to use the air gun to tack the vinyl and the plywood but it was too powerfull, the plywood was too weak, the gun was cutting the vinyl right away hehe. We had to use the old way, and finish with the hammer, it was really painful to install. Took us at least 1h30 only for that part, the hardest one. After one it was like 11h15, I had work in the morning so we stopped there. EVen thought I wanted to complete mine, I wouldn't have been able to do it. I was totally exhasted from my weekend, I drove back home for sleep.

This made quite a mess thought at the end of the day as you can see here (even the camera had stuff on it), the last picture is the cut of the 2 racetracks we did carefully ;)

Poker table - Part 1

Sunday: I get at brother house for the beginning of some hard work ! We first started with shopping the woods. We went to a Rona not too far and bought 5/8" plywood 4x8, 4 sheets at 32$ each (all price will be cad). For the finish, I took a oak plywood at 58$, my brother went for more white, merisier (wild cherry tree) sheet 5x5. We bought some vanish (which we wont use because it suck), some other stuff like glue 5$, 3M Adessive Spray 77 - 14$ (god that stuff is so nasty and glue so much it's scary), etc.
Invoice: 296$

After that we went to a Bouclair (fabrics shop), to get foam, vynil and velt, we only find the velt but it's really really nice ;) another 20$ there not sure.

It was getting late to finish the shopping since most stuff close at 17h00, we got back home with what we had.

Then we started slowly, unpacking the stuff, taking beers, when 2 of my brother friends came up. One had computer problems so we had a look at it. More beers, we did like 2 cuts that night, more beers and we got totally unproductive. Monday was the "Action de grace" (Thanksgiving), we feared that the stores would be close. I slept at brother place that night to save time in the morning.

Getting up at 12h00 sunday after the wedding, I moved at my brother place to start our project for real. So when I have more time I will post the the first part with more details. I'm quite busy and waiting for the pictures soon*.

Saturday wedding

I decided to cut my weekend in some posts, since I did a lots of stuff (except friday we did nothing except we were falling assleep on a movie, my friend went back to his place and I got in bed early). Saturday, I woke up early since I had to give a ride to the bride brother for the pictures. 2hours and so of car later, I got into Québec city, we got a decent trip (I was driving fast, no police tickets) nothing exceptional. When we got there, they (the family, etc.) were getting ready for the pictures before the wedding. It was funny to see all the women, they were all excited, nervous, was going left and right (geeeeesh), it was more funny to heard french expressions (they are french from France). When they were ready, I decided to do some shopping since I had like 3 hours to kill. I wanted to buy Virtua Tennis: World Tour for my PSP, but somehow there was a shipping problem, the game still not in store here, probably tomorow.

The wedding was pretty standard (I guess all the weddings I have been were standard). The two photographs thought was way too much overkill. I mean they were using short ladder, they were everywhere, one guys at one time was over the priest shoulder to take pictures, every angles, that was something. I guess the pictures are going to be great no doubt but still ! Something funny thought, that church is an historical one, open to visit, even with sign there was chinese / japanese (not sure) peoples taking pictures. Especially when we got out hehe. Lots of tourists was there checking out.

Then we moved to the hotel palace (hmm I think) for the party, couples of glass of champagne, couples of talk, this is were it was getting painful for me. Everyone was asking me why I was not with a woman there, why I was not accompanied, blah blah, geesh I hate that. I was one of the only single there... Only other I knew was the bride cousin (Pascale).

Then the meal, some stuff was quite good, some weird a bit, nothing regular ;) The appetizer was decent, not that I buy this kind of stuff, but I don't hate that. (I don't know the word anyway). The soup was really nice, then the main plate was quite good too (stuffed duck with some good strange gravy), except some mixtures that was coming with it. The dessert was strange a bit, it was some kind of normal wedding cake, with white chololate part over it and some fruits around, 1 straberry, 1 small apple, some blueberries, and something else. The bride brother did quite a speech thought, god we laugh so much, best speech I ever heard. I should really ask him his text, this is priceless hehe.

I didn't took too much beers after like 2 or 3. I did dance quite a lots, but for a while I was a bit tired, I wish I could have got up at 12h00 rather than 7h00am, I would have been in better shape. I did talk alots with my friend Jeff about poker. Some peoples left quite fast. So we were not that much at the end (been like the same peoples from 0h30am to 2h00am. Where I left... Some friends wanted me to go sleep at they place, but I wanted to be back in Montréal for sunday. I drove back home, a really painful 3 hours of car (I was going slow), since I was SO tired. I stopped often on the special place along the road to either take a good walk and get better or sleep some.

Anyway, at 6h00am, I got in bed and work up at 12h00 ready for more actions for sunday =P

Something I really hate !

Yesterday I ordered my poker chips from apachepokerchips.com, I select the chips, take international shipping, pick up some samples then checkout.

575.50$, Fine then i get the order confirmation and the invoice.
Check the credit card, 590.50$....
I then got an email "The extra charge are 15$ for Canada". I was like wtf is International Shipping then ? (37,50$ mind you). He is like check on upsp.com for 18 pounds insusrrance it's 60$ for Canada... I told him that I never saw anywhere on the site about any extra charges, that I wish to cancel my order. (I checked over a usps, Global Parcel shipping are like 31$ + 6$ inssurance). He told me he only can do Global Expresss... yeah right.

What kind of buisness invoice you 575$ and charge you 590$ ? Geesh I just hate that, so I canceled and went over to vegassupplies.com, The sets were 549$ rather than 525$ with 27,22$ ground shipping. After a quick calculation, I figure that I will pay 2 more $. Well I gladly pay 2 more dollars to a company who doesn't sneak extra unknown charges in background.

Too bad I won't get the samples I wanted to see but at least I don't have to pay a company for bad buisness.

So I went ahead and ordered these Paulson James Bond chips I was always talking about, I will get a set of 500 chips. I hope I get them before next saturday to play but I really doubt. That's would be nice, I decided to take:
125 x 50cent, 125 x 1$, 100 x 5$, 50 x 25$, 50 x 100$, 25 x 500$, 25 x 1000$.

I'm going to buy mineral oil after work (let's say in 10 minutes), so when I get them home, I will be able to oil them (You can oil high quality clay chips like these, the colors get way better and they last longer). See more about that at http://pokerchipsreview.com

On second note, my brother keep sending me plan about his table, so I decided to draw a quick idea of mine with size (Of course my brother use autocad and they look kick ass, but Im way too lazy to install and learn how to make plan in autocad. Im waiting another friend reply to order our cupholders from http://smackdogg.com/ the 3 inch one jumbo are recommended, the stainless steal one too but they are way too much expensive, the plastics one are like 3.2$ CAD by cup and like 10$ US for the high class one.

Poker table project

While talking with my brother coming back home sunday night (since we did 10 hours of car this weekend). We got time to talk about my poker addiction, etc. Then we talked about how my friend just build a poker table (I'm going to see the result next weekend, since this weekend is wedding time). So my brother was all like "Good idea I do that to put in my basement". Last night we talked a good 2hours+ over the phone on all the models, the size, the finition, the chair, the table legs, the poker chips. I came up to the conclusion that I will build an oval table, probably something around 3' 1/2" by 5' 1/2" feet or 4'x6' and my brother, most likely an octogonal or hexagonal table around 4x4 feet. First I was looking to make the table for 10 players 4x8, then my brother kept calling me crazy. I did check how big it was in my appartment, and hmm yeah 4x8 is quite huge for a table!

My friend Jeff who did 2 tables (4x8 plywood, was 2 4x4 tables), spent around 250$. I thought first it was a lots but when you see the quality of the tables, vs the crap you can buy it's really cheap. The table 4x8 I want to do retail at 1000$+ US on some sites, and cost like 350$ to make (with airburshed logo and a lots of fancy stuff I might skip). So I'm hoping to be under 300$ CAD for it. Especially if my brother build his too, that's mean we can split some cost on some parts.

Headhache

2 advils, 1 glass of water when you wake up always help ;) But I should have took the water before going bed, I never think about it. I must say not removing the perfume doesn't help either to the headhache during the night.

We went out last night at the TOPS (laval), it was not bad we played some pool, drank a bit (not that much really) but I was tired before going out, it never make me active. I saw a lots of beautiful woman, but when Im tired, I would not even bother trying to talk witht hem.

I probably go at Saguenay for my cousin thing tomorow morning, even thought I should go today else I will have to do 10 hours of car tomorow, but we shall see. I have some stuff at work to complete monday, it would be annoying to miss that. Hopefully maybe another cousin or something will come with me, less boring.

I completed my financial thing yesterday too, I might do a post later about it to give a better idea of what I did, got my haircut, did my grocery so it was a productive afternoon at least !

The sad news...

I learned that my cousin died today. I liked my cousin a lots, we spent a lots of our childhood together. He was a really funny guys always joking, always playing smart with everyone, my uncles, aunt, friends, etc. He was a sportif guys, playing hockey, baseball, golf, tennis, badminton, etc. We used to play pool a lots too and we did went out a lots (He used to know everyone in a bar since he was doing so much sport), he was pretty good in everything. Today I heard he was playing badminton and he fell on the ground dead. I don't have any other info... He was working for Hydro-Québec, every 2 weeks he was going up north at the Baie James (actually close to it) to work then was coming back down to saguenay. Everytime I was doing down to see my parent, I always had to stop to see him. It's hard to understand how someone in good shape can died like that.. he was only 2 years more than me (29). I don't know when they will bring him back. I will take a day off to go at saguenay, hopefully it's not next saturday else I would be stuck doing a lots of car or something during that day.

This is a picture he sent me 3-4 months ago, they were fishing a lots up there. It's like a fishing paradise. I'll miss him a lots.

The bad guys from the 80's and the good news

While shaving, I decided to stop in the middle of the process (took me a good 20 minutes to shave really) and see what I would look like these guys back in the 80s. Do I look like one of these bad guys in the good old action movies ? I was actually trying to look evil but it's not that easy....

As for the good news, I know I have the sad one coming so I post it down here in this post. I was talking to the administration department today, they were doing the invoices, etc. Since I was fixing on they problem. I got the news that they were way over 3millions in invoices this month so the bonus for the year will be 10% (10% of my salary). That's mean we did way over 10% in profit which is good. I think we gained close to 8millions from last year, not sure exactly. That's good for my budget in 2-3 weeks or so I will get a nice amount of cash to pay some of the debts.

Im going to get an haircut tomorow im really due so I will look like a nice clean little boy for the wedding. I also meet the financial guys tomorow I really looking forward to it. (Damn in the last picture, it seem the black area still there, I hope everything disapear tomorow when I reshave and make sure my baby face is clean)

The news is that now you can downgrade your PSP 2.0 to 1.5 (this allow you to run illegal copy of any games and play emulators and special programs on it). Mine was already at 1.5 but it's still cool (2.0 include a web browser). This remember me I finished unlocking everything in HotShot Golf, and nothing happenned. I was hoping I would upgrade my class again. I have to check if I maxed it. Been playing 310 courses with my profil. All I want to do now, it's there is 3 places where my score is 0, I want them all in the negative ;)

Talking about games, I downloaded world serie of poker (I mentioned it before). I was really looking forward to play with it, then the game crash right at start. A Visual C++ runtime library error. Using my computer skills last night didn't helped. I even switched the Windows DLLs involve (msvcrt.dll, msmfc42, msmfc42u.dll, etc.) and some more stuff, still nothing. (and I believe I have pretty strong skills to fix these kind of thing). That's the only program on my PC that doesn't work I really wonder why.

I noticed I'm quite negative in my previous posts, this has to be related to the fact Im still single and I don't want to be, it affect my life. Because I'm usually a positive person.

Oh I plan to shave tonight or tomorow. So I have to find out something new to do with my beard =P
